Understanding Mental Health Therapy

Aug 07, 2024 5:30 PM

Mental health impacts every area of our lives and that is the reason I centered my life's work on helping others understand theirs. For me, providing a safe environment where my clients can heal and grow a stronger sense of awareness, sense of self, personal freedom is invaluable. I have worked in various clinical settings over the years and now working at Mental Health Association's Criminal Justice Reform offering treatment to justice involved individuals in Essex County and the Senior In Home Therapy Program in Morris County. I have been working in mental health for 11 years and continue to bring awareness on trauma-informed practices and cultural awareness in mental health. I also believe in paying it forward by teaching classes for Northwestern's University and teaching Adult Mental Health First Aid.

“Prevent Addiction, Celebrate Recovery, Promote Mental Health, and Strengthen Families”

History of Red Ribbon

Red Ribbon Week is an annual awareness campaign in the United States that takes place in October to raise awareness and prevent alcohol, tobacco, smoking, and other drugs and violence. The campaign began in 1985 as a tribute to DEA special agent Enrique Camerena, who was killed in the line of duty. The DEA says that Red Ribbon Week is the country's longest-running and largest drug awareness and prevention program
